I just read about this in Micah's Journal on Deviant Art. I'm almost in tears right now, and that's a hard thing for me to do...ever.
I never got to talk to Mike. Yes, his artwork is legendary. He's been a great inspiration to me since the very first issue of Witchblade, and even before that, when he was still assisting Marc on the earlier stuff. His Ballistic piece in the Top Cow Lingerie special is still to this day my Favorite. Look for it, you'll know why. But it kills me that all the times I've seen him, I've never talked to him. He was always taht Larger tahn life figure to me that I just couldn't approach. And now, I'll never get to. I've always wanted to work at Aspen, just so I could somehow get a touch of that Magic he has with a pencil. To learn from him how to really be a better penciler. And obviously to Ink whatever I could get my hands on as far as the books they do.
This Bizness will never be the same now. I don't think any of us will ever be the same from now on.
Bye Mike.

This is sad news indeed. My condoleances to Michael's family, his friends and all you guys at Aspen. He meant much to us as fans and as has been said, he was an inspiration. I wish everyone close to him strength to get through this.

My thoughts are with all of Aspen, his family and friends and everyone here on the boards.
It is a amazing privilege to have shared in everything he has created and given to us.

This is breath-taking. I know I haven't been on the boards in a long time, but I have been working on my art, which is why this brings me great sadness. Michael Turner taught me how to draw. Maybe not one on one, but I wouldn't even read comics if it wasn't for his work. I don't know what to say, my heart goes out to his family and friends.
I seriously feel like one of the greatest parts of myself has passed away.
Again, my sincerest condolences.

It is very sad that an artist who was able to put so much life into his drawing has been robbed of his own.
To die and live on in the hearts of others is not to die at all.

I was into comics at the time of the big Image comics boom. As it began to fade I drifted out of comics for many years. It was Michael's art that drew me back in. And made me want to be part of the comic world. There will never be anyone else like him. I feel so blessed to have meet him last year in La. To me he gave comics a new hope. Much of the light in the current comic world came from him. And comics for me will never be the same. I am so completely devastated because Michael was my hero. My condulences to his family, everyone at Aspen, and all the fans as well.

So ive been crying for a long time now. I had no close connection with the greatest comic artist who inspired many. We went out for a drink one time, and he gave me some very valuable personal life advice. His work is and will forever be an inspiration to me and others im sure. From the amount of sadness already expressed on the web it is no doubt to say that he will be terribly missed.
I am very sad this day as are many of you. My prayers will be with you and with your family and friends. I will no doubt continue to collect frantically all your works, as you will never be forgotten.
Im sorry for your loss friends and fans of Michael Turner.
