To the un-stoppable, positive, inspiring, mad man that we all love. Your constant smiles always brightened up a room, a day, and a page. You were always uplifting...never using excuses or health problems as a crutch. Many fond memories have been scrolling through my head for the past 13 hours...because even though I am terribly sad I know that he would've wanted us to smile. You will always be in my heart Mike...you will always be in our hearts.

Oh my......
I just dont know what to say, i'm in utter shock. I thought and hoped that he was going to win this battle. Although I never met him, he was my inspiration, my idol. He was the reason I continued drawing, the reason I kept trying to improve, to get better, in the hopes that one day i'd meet him...show him my art....and get a Wow!!! out of him. He tought me how to draw.
My thoughts are with his family, his friends and all of the aspen crew and fans.
I regret never getting the chance to meet him, but he will always remain in my thoughts.
He will be missed

That's such a god damned shame. He was a long-time/all-time favorite to me, and a very cool person above all. I've hoped for a long time that his health would stay on the up and up, and that the 'cures' they are talking about these days would be there in time, but sadly that will not be. Another special little place in my heart will be forever set aside for Michael Turner, along with the others I have seen go in the last month or so. My best friend cousin, Andrew. My all time favorite comedian George Carlin. And one of the tightest line artists to lay pencil to paper in our time, Michael Turner. You will all be sorely missed. R.I.P.
My sincerest condolences go out to Michael's family and friends that are hurting for the loss of their friend and loved one. And thank you to Michael for sharing his wonderful gifts with us all. You were one of the best. Goodbye artist, and thank you.

So I'm sitting here teary eyed. I've never met the man. But admire the pioneer and fighting spirit that he has. Yes I say "has" because though his physical body no longer breathes life, I know his spirit lives strong.
Mr Turner's ambition and art was the example of a great artist who found his own voice of expression. Through his creations and worlds, an empire was formed as a lot of us rally around the banner of Aspen MLT.
I would like to apologize for my complacency when I gave that sigh when I heard Soulfire was being delayed or when I wasn't interested in the covers being hammered out. When I was told of the difficulty he had sitting at his drawing table. Those pencil strokes were done in pain.
I first learned of Michael Turner through his drawings but in the end am shown an example of a strong human being who wanted to bring joy to others and refused to let the sickness stop him from living a full life.
Michael Turner, here's to you. Thank you for everything.

Wow, I really haven't the words. This man was an idol to so many, which is a great way to remember him as such a positive influence. Such a sad day, my condolences to his family and to everyone at Aspen. He will no doubt be remembered as one of the very best in his field, his images were always beautiful and now they are the stuff of legends.
Frank & Peter, sorry for your loss, so tough to lose such an amazing friend, and collaborator of so many years. Your works in my opinion can't be touched by any other creators out there.
May he Rest In Peace

one thing I have never read anywhere...
Did he have a grrl or wife?
I know he is not a Brad Pitt with highprofiling girls around him, but I only read about his mother (being his biggest fan) and not once something about a girl, whereas in the foreword to the Fathom TPB Silvestri was having fun of Turner's bad art and his desire to stop waiting tables and get into the comicbizz to eventually get hot girls and a cool car...
After hearing the bad news, I immediately picked some books from my shelves in his rememberance and reading that foreword made me laugh and (almost) cry also...
