Q: How do the star ratings work?/What are the rankings?
A: Star ratings are based on what ‘rank’ you are on the boards. Ranking is determined by post count. New members have no stars and are Walleyes. The Ranks are as follows.
0-9 posts, Walleyes --0 stars
10-39 posts, Plankton --1 stars
40-99 posts, Fry --2 stars
100-399 posts, Aspenite --3 stars
400+ posts, Citizen of the AspeNation --4 stars
The following are the ‘permanent’ ranks, meaning post counts do not affect them:
Moderator --4 stars
Administrator --5 stars
Q: How do I get a title under my avatar?
A: Having a title is a privilege of becoming a Citizen of the AspeNation. When you reach 400 posts you may enter the Citizen of the AspeNation room and request one.
Q: Why can't I access the Citizen of the AspeNation forum in the Member’s Only section?
A: You must have attained the rank of ‘Citizen of the AspeNation’.
Q: Why does my post-count drop?
A: From time to time the boards are ‘pruned’ to increase speed and keep the bandwidth open. Old and locked threads are deleted, this lowers the total post counts and individual counts.
Q: I've lost my password what should I do?
A: Create a new account and send a Personal Message to Administrator Peter Steigerwald “P” and he can assist you in resetting your account. This will only be done once. Please choose a password that you can remember.
Q: Why is there a limit on the number of private messages in the inbox?
A: Yes, 25. PMs are not meant to be permanent message boxes. We recommend you clean them out frequently.
Q: I typed something in and it doesn’t appear correctly/My post has been edited or deleted by an Admin or Mod…why?
A: The boards are a privately controlled public forum. We set the standards of conduct. Certain words of profanity will not display. Admins and Mods are authorized to edit posts to conform to the contents guidelines of these boards. General rating rule to apply is the American movie rating of PG. Moderators and Admins will usually contact you when this happens, but if they do not feel free to PM the moderator of the forum and they can explain it.
Q: My thread disappeared. What happened?
A: Check the full listing of a topic. Threads that have posts deleted from them or have not been posted in a while are often ‘bumped’ lower on the list. If you have checked and cannot find it and believe it to be deleted please contact the Mod.
Q: What’s the beer rule?
A: In short? Don’t pass around beers or alcohol. This is a board frequented by many young adults under the legal age. Parents supervise them and monitor this board. Even if it’s not a real beer or alcoholic drink, it can be viewed as a poor influence. We do not want to be responsible for that…we don’t want you to be responsible for that.
We patrol these boards to prevent the corruption of minors...even if they want to be corrupted. This is to be a fun community for all, not sullied by the actions of the few. We want to encourage the happiness and postability of all involved.
